Oh Deb,

Yes I remember 3.2 beer, PBR or Papst Blue Ribbon to be precise.  Also sneaking into the Sydney Lust drive in, hiding in the trunk of someone's car.  OH NO!!!  Bookstore in the mornings at KHS, watching the world go by.  Hating to wear those little blue gym outfits, hoping those boys don't see us in them, yikes!!  Wonder what I did with that thing?  Not important, couldn't fit one leg in it now, LOL.

Just saw the revival of the musical "Hair" on Broadway a couple of weeks ago - my reaction to it was that I am truely getting (or am) old!

Could be 'cause I don't have much hair left, but I really think it is due to my being more conservative now ... the music was still pretty good and it brought back some fond memories ... but one of the stars, following their 2nd or 3rd curtain call, introduced his mother in the audience - after he had done things on stage that would be rated XXX..

Oh, how fun for you to see Hair at this point in your life!!!  You had to be laughing out loud at it.  I know isn't it interesting how time can change how a person feels about things in the present, knowing that these same things would not have been viewed the same in one's younger years.  Happens to me all the time.  Especially in the political realm.  Glad to hear it's not just me!!!  LOL

What is it they say?  If you're not a liberal when you're in your twenties, you don't have a heart.  And, if you're not a conservative by the time you're in your fourties; you don't have a brain!

'Course on the other hand; I did go see Fleetwood Mac, in concert this past weekend, and thought they were as good as, or maybe even better than, they were when we graduated!

Wow, did you really?  Where were they, I wore out a few of their records, Heroes are Hard to Find and some others.  We saw Eagles last January and they were spectacular.  Brought back lot's of memories.  Well, hopefully if I have to be a conservative (think I morphed into one), then I have a brain, LOL.  Like the scarecrow, looking for that brain only I think sometimes I only have 3 brain cells left and 2 are dead!!!!

One of the many nice things about living in Nashville is that there is always something going on ... almost as much as there was in NYC, when we lived there ....

We actually went to see Fleetwood Mac on Fri. evening and then went to see the Nashville Symphony on Sat. (Brahms NOT Billy Bob!)

'Course, saying I live in Nashville might be a stretch.  My line is that I'm the same as a migrant farm worker; I send my checks across the border so my wife can live in a nice house... but when I do get home it's a great place.

Never been to an Eagles concert ... would like to go; "... some dance to remember, some dance to forget!"

Isn't it ironic that the groups we were listening too in our late teens and early twenties are on tour now?

Just goes to prove that no good music was written after 1987 ...

Ah, yes!  A 6 pack of PBR at Buckroe Beach on those warm Spring days when it was obvious (or sorta likely) that we were gonna be late for home room attendence.  Since we got dinged for tardy whether 5 seconds or 5 hours tardy, better to hit Hobgoods and the beach to think things over until lunchtime...

Dunno yet if I'll be there, or not.  I'd like to.  But,  3K mile trip, time off work not earning, air fare, rental car, meals, hotel, etc..

And, as of now there are only a handful of people I knew 4 decades ago who are also planning to go, some of whom were ships passing in the night even in '68.

OTOH, I missed the 5th, 10th, 20th, 30th, etc..

Anybody know if any of those cheap motels on Buckroe Beach are still running, safe, and clean?
