BOBBIE PROFFITT OBITUARY

HAMPTON - Bobbie Gene Proffitt, 57, died Saturday, May 10, 2008.
A native and lifelong resident of Hampton, Bobbie graduated from Kecoughtan High School and worked as a pipe layer for Basic Construction.
Bobbie is survived by his son, Roger Lee Proffitt; daughter, Kellie Renee Proffitt; sisters, Peggy A. Keefer and Mary Lou Conklin; brother, Don Wayne Proffitt; grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Proffitt and Roger Lee Proffitt Jr.; and his lifelong companion of 28 years, Tina Grumbling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlyle Harvey Proffit and Mabel Virginia Williams Proffitt.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home by the Rev. Kevin Schrum. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
