Rebecca “Beci” Harris Edwards

A funeral service honoring the life of Rebecca Harris Edwards, 70, were held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery.Officiating the service will be David Hill.

Rebecca was born to Loyd Edgar George Harris and Betty May Williams in Brookhaven, Mississippi on October 8th, 1951 and entered into eternal rest on December 24th, 2021 in Converse, Louisiana.

Rebecca was a resident of Converse and worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Sabine Parish School Board for many years before retiring from the Sabine Parish School Board Technology Department. In 1969, Beci graduated from Kecoughtan High School. She later went on to work as an Administrative Assistant at Trailblazer in Dallas, Texas. A faithful follower of Christ, with a servant’s heart, Beci was a devoted member of Blue Ridge Methodist Church. She spent her time completing puzzles, sewing, reading, traveling, and definitely NOT cooking. She held a special place in her heart for Elvis, and for her furbabies, Laci and Suzy. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and her great-grandson. Rebecca was most often found doing for others, as that made her the happiest. She is a special soul who will be dearly missed.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, William Leslie Jones, and her son, Christopher Dale Edwards. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Jimmy L. Edwards; daughter, Kathy Lynn Davis and husband, Steven; brothers, Loyd Harris and wife, Ella, Douglas Harris and wife, Phyllis, and Sherman Harris and wife, Becci; her grandchildren, Catherine Davis, Sabrina Love and husband, Dalton, Samantha Davis, Shayna Brown and husband, Tyler, Liberty Benitez, Delanie Benitez, Ben Davis, Brandon Davis, Landon Davis, Darci Benitez, Douglas Benitez, and Sam Benitez; great-grandchild, Kameron Thomas; lifelong friend, Katherine Palmer, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.

Honoring Rebecca as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Tyler Brown, Dalton Love, Collin Brown, Ben Davis, Brandon Davis, and Landon Davis. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Douglas Benitez and Samuel Benitez.
