Michael Hunt - Class Of 1969

HAMPTON - Michael Wayne Hunt was born on July 10, 1951, in Hampton, Va., to parents, Joel Haskin Hunt Sr. and Lois Selden Hunt. He entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010.
Michael was baptized at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Hampton, Va. He graduated from Kecoughtan High School in Hampton, Va., and Ohio State University with a degree in Business Administration. He was an avid sports fan; he played football and ran track in high school. Michael was a retired brick mason and was previously employed at Coastal Mason and Bricklayers Allied Craftsman Local # 2 in Norfolk, Va., and currently owner of Hunt Construction A++ Brick and Block.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Joel Haskin Hunt Sr. and Lois Selden Hunt; brothers, Joel Haskin Hunt Jr., and Andre Craig Hunt; and nephew, Joel Kelly Hunt Mays.
Michael leaves to cherish his memory sisters, Lois Hunt, DDS of Washington, D.C., Joelynn Parham (James Sr.) of Pittsburgh, Pa., Barbara John of Monroe, Connecticut, and Marlou Jones of Hampton, Va.; brothers, Donald Hunt of Hampton, Va., and Roderick Hunt of Los Angeles, Calif.; nieces, Sheila Parham and Candace Hunt; nephews, the Rev. Edwin E. Jones II, Joel Hunt III, Kevin Hunt, Matthew Hunt, James Parham Jr., Jayakar John; aunt, Lilla Selden Midgette; and a host of relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, Jan. 21, beginning at 1 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at Gethsemane Baptist Church, 3509 Chestnut Avenue, Newport News. Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.

Bonnie Bridger (Mittelmaier) (1969)

This news, the first loss of a classmate in the new year, is so sad. I remember Mike from the halls of KHS and he was a vital, handsome, genuine person. Wish he could have attended the most recent reunion and we could have had a chance to say hello one more time.
