Deborah Rimmer (Nelson)

Deborah R. Nelson

It is with deep sorrow and much regret that I am sharing the news of the recent loss of our classmate, Debby Rimmer Nelson, KHS '69.  Debby left us quite suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday evening, May 9th, 2013. Arrangements have been made for Debby's memorial service.  The service will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, May 21st, 2013, at Central  Baptist Church, 2739 Hampton Highway, Yorktown, VA, with visitation beginning at 5:00 pm prior to the service.

Debby's little sister, Kay Rimmer Van Valkenburg, KHS '70, shared that Debby lived the qualities of the Fruit of the Spirit with grace, everyday - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  Those were the fruits of her spirit.  She is now resting in the arms of heaven, we will miss many things about her, including her lovely smile and quiet beauty.

I remember Debby from classes we shared at Syms and KHS, now many moons ago.  I reconnected with her during the times involving planning and working our KHS Reunions.  I know that Debby weathered some very difficult and sorrowful events, but she was somehow able to retain that very sweet smile and caring, giving nature that was uniquely her's.  She was a strong, kind, lovely lady, always had something meaningful to share.  She truly did possess quiet grace, strength, and beauty.  I feel blessed to have known her in this life and hope to see her in the next.  Rest in perfect peace and perpetual light, Debby.
