Lou Hooks - Class Of 1969

CARROLLTON - Lou H. Hooks, 61, died peacefully in his home on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010.
Born in Wilson, N.C., he lived in Hampton, Va., most of his life. Lou retired as a Sergeant from the Poquoson Police Department in 2000 after 19 years of service, settling in Carrollton, Va., with his beloved wife, Sheila.
Lou loved his family. His happiness and joy was bringing a smile to the faces of those around him. Ever the joker, Lou kept the room alive with his vibrant personality and passion for life. His devotion to his family extended to Vincent, his favorite dog, and the Redskins. Lou touched the lives of family, friends and neighbors holding a special place for his mother-in-law, Edith Moody, sister-in-law, Sherry Duncan, and brother-in-law, Dale Moody.
Lou is preceded in death by his parents, James and Jesse Hooks; and his brother, Gary Hooks.
Lou is survived by his lovely wife of 41 years, Sheila Hooks; son, Lindsay Hooks; daughter, Karena Auer; three brothers, Butch, Paul and Ronnie Hooks; sister, Joyce Ann Pollard; granddaughter, Mackenzie Auer; and grandson, Christopher Hooks.
The family will receive friends for a time of remembrance on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home.

Bonnie Bridger (Mittelmaier) (1969)

I am so sorry to learn of this loss.  Lou and Gary were both classmates through Benjamin Syms and KHS.  Gone way too soon.
