Gary B. Adams Obituary

GLOUCESTER - Gary B. Adams passed away September 5, 2017. He was a long-time resident of Gloucester, VA. His battle was neither courageous nor stoic-he yelled and hollered and fought until the end. He is survived by his wife Theresa, sons Owen, Jeremy and Michael, daughter Kendra, brother Roger Adams, sister Debby Bolick and her husband Bobby, and his special friends John Stones and Bill Irvin. Gary served in Vietnam, receiving the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was well known for his compassion and was always ready to lend a hand to a friend or stranger. Giving to others in need was his greatest joy. He would save all year to be able to anonymously gift strangers money at Christmastime. His great love for dogs was known everywhere and his current pack will sorely miss him. Although Gary was adamant about not wanting a funeral service, the family believes he would approve and appreciate memorial donations to the Gloucester-Matthews Humane Society, P.O. Box 385, Gloucester VA 23061.

While I didn't know Gary in school, I do remember him and after reading his obituary it appears he went on to live an active life, that he cared for people, animals, and his family and served his country.  I feel certain he made a difference for many and will be missed.
