CLYDE'S OBITUARY

U.S. Veteran  

Clyde M. Tennyson, 73, of Hampton, VA died April 30, 2024. He was born at Dixie Hospital on October 5, 1950. Following high school he served three years in the United States Army and then attended Thomas Nelson Community College where he earned an Associates Degree. Clyde spent his career working at a designer for naval architecture firms, retiring from Newport News Shipbuilding. He was devoted to the Boy Scouts of America and was active with Troop 10. Clyde was an Eagle Scout and left a legacy of scouting in his family. He loved gardening and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Stephanie Stacy, Travis Tennyson, Matthew Tennyson; longtime girlfriend, Nora O’Brien; sister, Janet Wendelken; grandchildren, Cynthia Nicole Stacy, Steven Zachary Stacy, Emma Grace Stacy, Collin Xavier Mann-Tennyson, Margaret June Mann-Tennyson Matthew Rice Tennyson Jr., and Paige Virginia Tennyson.

A celebration of life will be held at First United Methodist Church Hampton on Saturday, May 11 at 11AM with a reception to follow in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in his honor to the Boy Scouts of America.
