I am so sorry to hear of Bruce's death...even now, so many years later. Can anyone fill me in on what happened? He was such a breath of joy in the classes I took with him. Truly an original with such wry wit and a wonderful sense of humor.
I have vivid memories of him bantering with our English teacher, Mr. Victor Taylor...they both loved music and were both so erudite about it and other things...it was a joy to listen to them. Krista Cipriano and I chatted about it frequently. How sad that he is gone. Picchi
I knew Bruce well. We were in a band together from 1967-1969. Bruce could play a hell of a trumpet. Some of you may remember the group we called ourselves "The National Debt". Bruce was always the quiet one of the group and we always played jokes on him but he never got mad at us for anything. What a shame for a great musical talent as he was and also a great person to leave us so soon. I can still hear your trumpet blowing in my head now as it comes down from heaven. Rest in peace Bruce!

My understanding is that Bruce was in a car accident on Rt. 17, between New Bern & Washington, NC.His wife, Judy, was a Nurse in Washington and he taught Jr. High Band in New Bern.
I believe his daughter was 2 yrs. old at the time.
