James Douglas Blevins

8/31/1950 – 3/5/2025

On March 5, 2025 James Douglas Blevins 74, left his earthly body and entered his heavenly rest. He was born August 31, 1950 to the late Jasper and Jean (Shelton) Blevins in Sanford, NC. He was a long-time resident of Hampton, VA.

Doug was a 1968 graduate of Kecoughtan High School and a National Merit Scholar. He was a Navy Veteran and an avid sports fan, cheering on the Raiders and Purdue.

A caring and gentle soul, Doug always wanted to see the good in people. He was a loving husband, an amazing Dad, and the best big brother! He loved reading and watching science fiction and was lovingly dubbed the King of Sarcasm by his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Connie (Chatham) Blevins, his son Jason (Mindy) Blevins and two sisters, Kathy Forrest and Vicki (Billy) Bridenstein. He loved spending time with his grandchildren Trinity, Eden, Madison and Evan.

Doug was cremated and a private family Celebration of Life will be held March 29, 2025.
