James Bowling - Class Of 1969

James G. ``Jimbo'' Bowling, 45, died Sunday, March 31, 1996, following a long battle with cancer.
A talented musician, singer and songwriter, he was a founding member of the Southern rock national recording group ``Snuff'' and more recently the local acoustic group ``Blvd. 58.'' Jimbo called Virginia Beach his home and Virginia Beach embraced him.
He is survived by his father, Lonnie G. Bowling and mother, Josephine H. Bowling of Garner, N.C.; brothers, Col. William Bowling of Okinawa and Robert E. Bowling of Rolesville, N.C.; grandmother, Myrtle Wilson Bowling of Raleigh, N.C.; and loving friends in Virginia, North Carolina and Jamaica who consider him their extended family.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh, N.C. The family will be at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner, (919) 772-8225, from 7 to 9 p.m.
