John went home to his heavenly Father after fighting a courageous battle against cancer on December 12,2012. He left behind his wife of 40 years, Susan Minter, as well as his mother, Lois Minter. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Scott and Jessie Minter and Megan and Drew Gliebe as well as his brother and wife, Rusty and Linda Minter. He was also blessed with two grandchildren, AJ and Ian Gliebe, who always bought a smile to his face. John never knew a stranger and had a deep love for the congregation that he led at New Friendship Baptist Church. There will be a memorial service at New Friendship Baptist Church located at 13559 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville, VA, 22473 on Saturday, December 15, at one pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Friendship Baptist Church General Fund or to the American Cancer Society .
