Today, April 1st, Alley and I attended a Celebration of Life for Hurley Toussaint Freeman, Jr., affectionately know by his family as "Bugs".  Gathered there were many friends and family members.  Some of the attendees were classmates who each, in their own personal way, cared for Hurley and remembered special memories of him.  Tributes were shared, Coach Hathaway spoke of the many happy times and memorable occasions that were part of those long ago days.  He expressed how very grateful he was to have been a part of those high school years with Hurley.  Others, classmates, shared how Hurley blazed a positive trail for them and served as a role model, reaching back to those younger classmates, touching their lives in unexpected ways.  The service was uplifting and left me with a feeling of peace for Hurley who didn't always have alot of peace in his life.  We who remain, should remember that no matter what the road is we have chosen to follow, we are all headed towards the same destiny which is eternity and cherish our time here and with each other.  Now gone but not forgotten, rest in peace Hurley.
