From time to time, a KHS Classmate will make us aware of another KHS Classmate that has passed away, but we were not aware of it and therefore did not post it to our KHS Website.  Donald "Donnie" Blake, KHS '68 is a faithful classmate who always insures that we include those who we may have missed.  Donnie attends local events and is able to gather this information and thankfully, share with us.  Donnie sent me this email which I found to be such a lovely tribute to Stephanie and a little snippet of his youth and time when he knew her way back when.  I asked for permission to post it and his response was so priceless!  Here it is: "I have no problem with the posting, as the statute on limitations for teenage feelings expired many years ago!"  Perfect!

"At a recent gathering of Buckroe JHS and KHS students for a luncheon, I learned of another loss of a Class of 1968 alumni. Stephanie Greitzer Saunders passed away in 2019 from cancer. I do not have the exact date, only that it was a few months ago. I met Stephanie at BJHS,where I found her to be one of the smartest girls in our class. Not only was she smart, she was beautiful and witty. At the tender age of 14, I found myself to have a crush on her, but I kept it to myself. Stephanie and I only ever shared one class, algebra with Mr. Rogers in the ninth grade. About ten years ago, I encountered her again. By then she was the widow of Dudley Saunders and I worked with two of her grandaughters in a youth organization. Years after we met I found that I was able to talk to her. So sad to hear this news.

My information came from a distant relative of Stephanie, and I must apologize as I do not know her name. I do know that this lady and her husband just bought Anna Gear's home from the bank."
