Little did I know that when I met Charlotte Copley, a few years ago as she was a member of an organization that I had joined, that she was actually a teacher at KHS when I was attending as a student there. I did not have her as a teacher, during my time there but what a surprise to learn this, after she passed. Additionally, I had met her daughter Mary Charlotte and had been in her company a few times without realizing that she graduated with us in 1969. Her name was Mary Speight, at that time. At the Celebration of Life for Charlotte, I spoke with Mary Charlotte and shared with her these revelations. She did not recall much from our KHS days but we had a very nice conversation. Charlotte, her Mom, was active up until the last few weeks of her life, living independently and driving etc. I sure will miss her. Wish we could have had the opportunity to discuss our former times at KHS and her daughter, etc. She certainly did live quite a long and accomplished life. A lady ahead of her time. Sail on Charlotte, see you on the other side!
