HAMPTON - Robert W. "Bobby" Staples Jr., age 59, passed away on Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at his home.
Bobby was born on Feb. 11, 1952, in Richmond, Va.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert W. "Wally" Staples Sr.; and his wife, Theresa R. Staples.
He is survived by his mother, Grace Irene Staples; three brothers, Jerry Staples, David Staples and wife, Sonja, Steve Staples and wife, Maureen; and one sister, Sandra Anderson and husband, Richard; his son, Robbie Staples and wife, Sinoun; daughter, Catherine Moore and husband, George; one granddaughter, Mallory Moore; one grandson, George "Scooter" Moore Jr.; and another grandbaby on the way. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews.
His most favorite thing in the world was to go fishing on the Chesapeake Bay. Over the years, there were many fishing trips that brought home dinner for all as well as the occasional unsuccessful trip.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel, 245 S. Armistead Avenue, Hampton by Pastor Don Marsh. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
