Biographical Sketch:

Home is in Midlothian, VA. Retired in 2019 from position as President HopeTree Family Services since 11/02 www.hopetreefs.org(formerly Va Baptist Childrens Home). Now serving as Executive Director Emeritus of HopeTree Family Services. Was pastor Westover Baptist Church, Richmond 16 years, Menchville Baptist Church, Newport News 7 years, pastor in NC 2 years following seminary. Earned BS in Bus. Admin. University of Richmond and was manager at Old Point National Bank nearly 4 years after college, then attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary at Wake Forest, receiving Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees. I have certification in Clinical Pastoral Education (Riverside Hospital, Newport News) and have served as volunteer Chaplain in Newport News and Richmond for 25 years. Married Becky Darnell (HHS 69) in 1970. She is a graduate of CNU (BA) and U of Richmond (M.Ed) and is a retired teacher. We have three children, all married, and 7 grandchildren.

Magga sat next to me at our last reunion. I had never known her personally while at KHS. But We became FB friends afterwards. So very sorry to hear of her passing.

I remember Donald well from Buckroe and Kecoughtan. He was always a good guy. Sounds like he lived a great life. Sorry to hear of his passing.

I also remember Rus going back to Buckroe Jr High in 1969.  He was always a good person and a good student.  I am sorry to hear of his passing, and wish the best for his family and friends, and especially for his sister, Chris.
