Attended undergraduate school at Virginia Tech and graduated in 1973 with a degree in Sociology. Finished my graduate degree at Old Dominion in 1981 in Urban Studies.
Worked in Juvenile Services for first Newport News (Juvenile Probation) and moved to York County in 1981. Retired from York County in 2004 as Chief of Juvenile Services.
Have been working in event management first part time prior to retirement and since full time in my own companies - Village Events, Ltd. located in Grafton and a subsidiary of my parent company - Professional Training Associates, Ltd.
For Village Events, Ltd. I manage the Farmers Markets in York County. I also put on the Yorktown Wine Festival which is the first Saturday of October each year as well as a Blues, Brews, and BBQ event on the first Saturday in May also in Yorktown. I have also done wine festivals at New Town and High Street Williamsburg and a microbrewery festival in Hampton. On the first Saturday in December I also put on the Yorktown Christmas Market on Main in the historic area of Yorktown. Hope to some of you at any or all of these events throughout the year.
For Professional Training Associates, Ltd. I manage seminars I put on all over the country and that take me to Hawaii twice a year, Alaska once a year, and many other places in between.
Am also involved with York Sister Cities and have been a delegate in adult exchanges to France twice and Germany once.
